Savage Bolt Lift Kit (Universal)

For a long time I have been toying with different bolt lift kits and I have tried just about every type out there. Then a customer showed me his idea and I like it. Made some improvements and the results so far have been very good. Some times bolt lift is improved by as much as 50% though most tend to be in the 20-30% range.

What makes it better and different?

Unlike cheaper alternatives with the "Universal" name, this kit has a relief cut into the back of one of the bearing races which is essential to proper fitment and function into the cocking sleeve of the multi-piece firing Pin. This can be seen in the picture above. This kit is built with an emphasis on precise tolerances, material selection, and long-term reliability rather than cost-driven shortcuts.

 It is the only kit that works with Savages that are a multi-piece firing pin and have the cocking indicator. This new kit I made uses a specially modified thrust bearing and a spacer for the BAS screw. One thing I noticed is that most other bolt lift kits compress the firing pin spring more which does the opposite of decreasing bolt lift. The spacing ring fixes this issue. Also the thrust bearing take friction down to near zero compared to all the other kits that still have friction.
